THE TRAVEL AGENCY

‘a cannabis store’

A brand I built from the ground up. When we started, they had a license—and nothing else. No name, no voice, and no point of view. As their Freelance Creative Director, I hand-picked a dream team to build a complete brand identity in just a few months. I steered every touchpoint from:

  • Naming & Brand Voice
  • Store design inspiration and artwork
  • Visual Identity & Persona
  • Store Design & Merch
  • Full-Scale Marketing Campaigns

Over the past three years, we have grown the business from one store to four. The Travel Agency is now the highest grossing cannabis dispensary in NYC.

The moniker pays tribute to the days before legalization, when delivery plugs used coded business cards—touting "laundry services" or "Chinese food"—to disguise their work. We chose a "Travel Agency" as our nod to these coded classics and to the journeys we offer. The E’s are intentionally flipped letting the viewing know not everything is what it seems.

I pulled the inspiration for the architects Leong and Leong ––an old photo of Eero Saarinen’s TWA Lounge. I also helped inform the artwork for the vestibules and various art installations throughout the stores.

I especially love our functioning flipboard with unconventional destinations.

We’ve built brand affinity and cultural relevance through a cheeky, playful and irreverent voice.

I recently completed a 200 page brand book, codifying all the principles and personalities traits of the brand.

Psst - Cannabis-friendly media is scarce. We rely on wildpostings, CTV, programmatic, and social.
